Italy: Scuffles break out as 5,000 people queue for J&J vaccine open day in Bologna

Subscribe to our channel! Thousands of mainly young people, queued for hours and hours for the first Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine open day in Bologna on Wednesday. Police were called to attempt to control the excessive pushing and shoving as locals desperately fought their way to the front of the queue to receive a shot of the vaccine. Many people told reporters that they slept in front of the entrance the night before, as news of 1,200 free doses of the one-shot vaccine became available. “We arrived last night, around 10:40 PM,“ explained a local resident inside the centre awaiting his vaccination shot. “At the start it was just us here. Then these guys arrived, this girl with her boyfriend. Nothing really, we slept, or better said, we tried to sleep in the car in those few hours during which it was possible,“ stated another local resident.
