He was the student of Socrates and the teacher of Aristotle. The Allegory of the Cave can be found in Book 7 of Plato’s most well-known work “The Republic“. In the allegory, he compares the effect of education on our nature. It was written over 2000 years ago but there are many aspects of the discussion that are still relevant today.
