We’re Living - Vi Lever - En Chantant

This song was given a Norwegian version by the well-known singer and songwriter Jan Eggum, from Michel Sardou’s original “En Chantant“, but departed quite radically from it. Wenche Myhre, a singer who was very popular both in Norway and in Germany sang Eggum’s version as an important part of her repetoire, including a performances for royalty. This rendering follows Eggum’ text, but beware: many of the lines come in a different order, even though I have tried my best to keep the thought in the original. The changes were due to many factors: rhyme patterns which force the way things have to be said, but also getting the natural rythm of the words to fit the melody so the stress comes on the right syllable. The choir arrangement is by Asbjørn Devik, and normally Benedicte Sjøvold is conductor, but this time Charlotte had to step in.
