“O store Gud“ (“O Mighty God“) was written by Swedish hymn writer Carl Gustav Boberg. The English version, “O Lord my God, When I in Awesome Wonder“, was translated by English hymn writer Stuart K. Hine in 1949 from a Russian translation of a German translation of the original Swedish hymn. Hine had been a missionary in Western Ukraine in the 1920s. The tune is adapted from a Swedish folk tune.
