The A model was released today with the DCS open beta patch. It represents a late-model A version so the avionics are basically the same as the B we already have. The biggest difference is the TF-30 engines which were famous for compressor stalls. We took it out to test it against some “Zeros“ and see if we could get a stall. It simultaneously feels the same, and very different than the F-14B. You can hear the different stages of afterburner igniting, but, so far, they feel fairly stable.
This mission was also an homage to one of my favorite movies as a kid. Hopefully we get that VF-84 livery soon!
