I don’t understand Gen Z. Not that I’m supposed to, exactly, but I think I should at least have a grasp on what teenagers are thinking. Nope. Not a clue. “Kids today“ is a two-word phrase that signals a person is old and out of touch... but what if it really is the kids who are in the wrong? Or, if not in the “wrong,“ exactly, just... unaware. They lack life experience. They don’t know what they’re missing out on. Prom is supposed to be a high school rite of passage—one that I skipped, incidentally, hence the insecurities exposed in this video—but if you don’t take full advantage of the situation, what are you doing?
