Sign up for the newsletter: The H&K G3 was a tremendously prolific rifle that was produced mainly in Germany, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Pakistan and of course, the US copy by PTR industries. It was adapted and used in even more places around the world, and even 50 year old relics have been seen in operation in war-torn Africa and the Middle east. The roller delayed blowback system was developed in WW2, refined by CETME in Spain and later by Heckler & Koch. The same system that would give birth to the famous MP5. There have been many who are skeptical about the iron sights on the G3, and some who doubt it’s effectiveness when compared to more contemporary SR25 and FAL type rifles, but how does it do on range?
