Sekhmet in Ancient Egyptian mythology and religion is the goddess of war and the destroyer of the enemies of Ra, the Sun God. Sekhmet’s name was associated with disease as well as healing and medicine. Sekhmet was called the Eye of Re, the Eye of Horus, Daughter of Ra, Daughter of the Sun, Warrior Goddess, and the Flaming One. She was worshipped principally at Memphis and was the companion of the god Ptah.
