Peter Turnley Peter Turnley is a renowned American photojournalist and fine-art photographer. He was born in 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and grew up in the United States and Europe. He began his career as a photojournalist in the early 1980s and has since covered many of the world’s major news events, including conflicts in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, Iraq, Lebanon, and Rwanda, as well as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. Turnley’s work has been published in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Newsweek, Harper’s Magazine, and National Geographic, and he has received numerous awards for his photography, including the Overseas Press Club Award, the World Press Photo Award, and the Robert Capa Gold Medal from the Overseas Press Club.
