States of Mind Installation | Part 1
An installation obscuring participants into multi coloured mists of yellows, blues and pinks. The installation engages participants neurological senses, launching an exploration of the human consciousness.
“Nothing is more beautiful than a person’s own perception. I try to push it to its limits,” says Ann Veronica Janssens.
The aim of the installation is to deliberately perplex, however also experiments the actual progression of awareness and the way we interact with our peripheral surroundings. The colour mist psychology engages the participants’ sentiments to change and people are invited to experience a blend of emotions in several states of minds, as the title suggests.
As a result Janssen’s work removes us from daily life into an explosion of dry blurred hues that play with human emotions and deliberately unease us so that we become aware of our conscious.
The installation launches after an year long of an experiment within the human mind and consciousness, including an upcoming follow up of States of Mind Part 2 in February 2016.
