Australia: Thousands march in Melbourne against new round of lockdowns

Thousands of anti-lockdown protesters marched through Melbourne’s central business district (CBD) on Saturday, as Melbourne is still under stay at home laws under its fifth lockdown since the pandemic began. Melbourne’s current lockdown is due to be lifted on Tuesday at 23:59 local time (13:59 GMT) but many were not deterred and marched freely through the CBD’s streets before crowding in front of the GPO on Bourke St.
