Vicar Sells Mobile Church (1969)

No titles. Vicar sells mobile church. Andover, Hampshire. M/S of a double decker bus travelling along a countryside road. A sign on the side reads ’St Mary’s Mobile Church’, Interior shots show a small altar where the seats should be at the front and the Reverend Apps driving. The Reverend gets out of the cab and goes into the main part of the bus to change the hymn numbers. Commentator explains the bus is being sold because it cannot accommodate all the children who want to come to Sunday School. Shot of stained glass windows in the bus. Several shots of the Reverend conducting a service on the bus while a small congregation sits in the few bus seats left inside. M/S of the Reverend putting a ’For Sale’ sign in one of the windows, then locking the back door of the bus. From now on he’ll hold services in the homes of his parishioners and take Sunday School in a local hall. He moves the ’Mobile Church’ sign from the front destination board of the bus and walks off.
