If you’re interested, use my referral link to get a free card when you buy 5 cards from auctions ⬇️ Player profile: Camilo Mena, 19, was once a very highly rated prospect, much of it due to him being featured in the famous “Guardian’s next generation“ yearly article back when he was in Colombian second tier side - Tigres FC - and was just 16, couldn’t match the hype unfortunatelly and joined Valmiera from Latvia in 2021, where he has performed brilliantly and it’s clear his carreer is only starting. Plays mainly on the wing, more as an inverted winger as he operates fairly well in tight areas, mesmerizing dribble and top tier technique make him a highly unpredictable player and very fun to watch, while much of his success might come from the league being weaker, he has showcased his ability of getting out of tough situations easily and winning 1v1’s left and right. While off the ball, he can drop back to help move up the ball with his ability of going past defenders, he also adds a lot of verticality with his pace and quick reaction to transition, loves to run behind the defenders and gets into finishing positions very intelligently, wastes a lot of opportunities tho, some of which he did all the hard work and needs to work on that in order to become a much more valuable offensive player. The Latvian league isn’t the most competitive and there’s signs of complacency showing which might hinder his development, neverthless, Camilo Mena is probably the best prospect there, new challenges might be needed and a move could be really close.
