The Traditional Van Nuys is a tip of the hat to the late 70s and early 80s Schecter models that they assembled in their workshop as they transitioned from a guitar repair store to a fully fledged guitar brand. The Traditional is an S- Style guitar, in a typical HSS style Superstrat layout. The pickups in the guitar are Schecters own retro rock pickups, the SuperRock Vintage bridge humbucker and the MonsterTone single coils. This guitar can do everything from classic rock and blues to rock and metal, but where it really excels is when you get into shredtastic 80s rock riffs and licks. The SuperRock Vintage pickup has just the right amount of bite and clarity so you can get heavy without losing note definition. The humbucker can also be coil split to a single coil for extra versatility. The Ash body gives it a very classic edged tone and the roasted maple neck is fast and smooth to move around on. It’s a fairly modern 14“ radius loaded with 22 X-Jumbo frets. In the video I am plugged straight into the Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 which is running out of the RedBox DI via an XLR Cable direct into my audio interface. The RedBox DI is running an IR of a Vintage 4x12 cab.
