Latest dev video of the demo for this game, which is just released Free download of demo version can be found here :- Heavily influenced by the 1984 Game Tir na nog and the 1985 sequel, Dun Durach, “ Cuchalain The Great” (working title) picks up on a new adventure written purely in NextBasic for the ZX Spectrum Next. Our hero needs to navigate the world, solve mysteries, interact with residence of the World and gather enough wealth to ensure his legacy. I am know about 2 years, on and off into writing this game. I remember when I was 16, we got our first ZX Spectrum 48k, with the rubber keys, I was amazed, felt like I had the world at my fingers.... one of the first games I came across was the above mentioned Tir na Nog. I remember stunned at the amazing animation, a parallax scrolling (long before that was even a thing). So finally, many years later, when a global pandemic hit, I found myself with time to burn. I was lucky enough getting my hands on the KS1 ZX Spectrum Next, and being lucky enough to able to work from home anyway, I spent about 2 hrs a day coding and working on the graphics for the above. Even though I went to colleague and have a qualification in computing and IT, I chose to right the game in Basic. (NextBasic) Come back and follow progress as I aim to complete this later this year and publish for FREE. #cuchalainthegreat
