VERY WET Metal Detecting with the Garrett APEX.. Can it cope with the weather?

NOTHING is going to stop me metal detecting again, not even bad rain and knee deep mud. But is the APEX really weatherproof? I love metal detecting so much, that i decided to get out on another local permission that we hadnt been on for about a year. It was the field where i found my last gold and the lead soldiers, however I think we did a very good job of hunting out the fields there didnt seem to be much to find, but I was very surprised when i got home to find id dug a lovely French Napoleon coin from
