Rock My Body, re-released in 2014 via JTV Digital, is now available on iTunes at Rock My Body, which features popular Ghanaian dancehall artist Jupitar, is an adaption of the 1960’s Soul Sisters “Wreck Im Buddy“ Jamaican hit. Responding to a recent interview with DJ Rita Ray on BBC’s Global Beats, who suggested the song and video were “raunchy“, a “bit near the knuckle“ and had become a “gay anthem“, Wiyaala said the song was about control and the right of women to choose which man should rock their bodies: “It shouldn’t always be the men who choose the women“ she said. “That’s why in the video you see me go shopping for a man in Aishaman market“, the singer added.
