Grain dryer optimization using DEM-CFD integration

In this video, we see how Rocky DEM simulation integrated with CFD can help to improve a grain dryer design and its operating conditions to better reduce the moisture in maize. Rocky’s native GPU solver capability can handle more than 1 million particles while keeping computational time fast. DEM-CFD coupling with Ansys Fluent shows particle moisture transfer as represented by water vapors in the air. Engineers can then evaluate the dryer’s efficiency by tracking moisture reduction at a particle level.
