Maria Butina talks about torture in a US prison. Maria Butina came to the United States as a student. She was arrested on false charges and spent several months in a US prison. The Russian government had a hard time getting the Russian citizen to return home. Back home in Russia, Maria said that the “guards of democracy“ subjected her to a variety of tortures, including several months in a cold cell, frequent awakenings, and orders to strip naked.
