A Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) in “XL” configuration launched a Cartosat-2 series satellite (Cartosat-2E) for Earth observation and 30 co-passenger satellites into a 505 km polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO), from the First Launch Pad (FLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota, on 23 June 2017, at 03:59 UTC. This was India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle 40th flight and the seventeenth flight of PSLV in ’XL’ configuration (with the use of solid strap-on motors).
