Silverback on step

The Silverback is a 32’ gillnetter that fishes for salmon in Bristol Bay Alaska. We extended the planing surface of the hull by adding a ’step’ to the back of the boat. Our goal was to get the Silverback to plane easier and to plane with a greater load.
