Antipersonnel Bomb (1944)

Title reads: “M of I - Government Official“. Ministry of Information public safety trailer about antipersonnel bombs (butterfly bombs). Dramatised sequence: small boy finds an object in back garden. Boy calls out: “Look what I’ve found“ and then bends down to pick up the object, object explodes. Mother of boy, having heard explosion noise, walks out of house and into garden, a horrified expression appears on her face. Various shots of butterfly bombs lying in street, in garden and hanging from hole in ceiling, a woman looks anxiously up at it from her bed. MS Air Raid wardens answering telephone call - narrator tells us we should report a butterfly bomb immediately. Bomb lying in road, pan to show deserted street - narrator tells us people should stand at least 100 yards from unexploded butterfly bombs. Policeman walks carefully past bomb.
