Appleton Cop Fatally Shoots Man Who Fired at Officer at a Bar

Wisconsin Ave., Appleton, WI 54911 for a disturbance / gun shot fired within the business during business hours, at approximately 1:33 a.m. APPD Officer Yeeleng Thor was the first law enforcement officer (LEO) that arrived at the bar as apparent bar patrons were exiting the area on foot and in vehicles. Officer Thor ultimately located a lone gunman within the bar, later identified as 41-year-old Derk Brachmann. Brachmann fired a single shot at Officer Thor, Officer Thor returned fire striking Brachmann multiple times. Medical aid and life saving measures were attempted on Brachmann at the scene.
