Driver Flees From Police In Pickup With Two Wheels

| 12:00 AM | HOUSTON - A man was taken into custody after leading officers on a wild pursuit, early Tuesday morning. Officers attempted to stop a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck for a minor traffic violation near Beltway and Hardy around midnight. The driver of the truck failed to yield and led officers on a lengthy pursuit. A spike strip was successfully deployed, obliterating two of the suspect vehicle’s tires. Despite losing two tires the suspect continued to flee while driving on bare wheels for nearly 20 miles. The pursuit came to an end when the suspect stopped for unknown reasons and was taken into custody without incident in the area of the Westbound 610 Freeway just east of TC Jester.
