Meccano Bridges Serve as Reference for 165 House

Situated within a condominium on the central coast, with a steep incline and an existing plateau, this single-family home was designed, defining laminated pine as the structural skeleton, aligning with its response to predominant stresses and suitable properties in humid saline climates. The crossing of 2 volumes on the upper floor has been meticulously crafted, constructed through laminated structures in the 40x15 cm section, diagonally reinforced to meet the structural needs for spanning pronounced gaps (4.5 meters), forming large trusses that frame the perimeter of the house. Two parallel main truss beams are formed, arranged and centrally supported to balance the overhangs at their ends. The project draws inspiration from mid-century Meccano bridges.
