This is Rob Dahm´s (yes, the fellow automotive Youtuber) Mazda RX-7 FD3S monster, built in Record Time, to tackle the ultimate HillClimb Challenge, Pikes Peak International HillClimb. As many of those who follow Rob´s channel will know, this Monster was just finished right on time pass Safety Inspection during Monday prior to the event and would go on to have very limited track action during the week, until being unleashed on the Full Event. Amazingly, it would go on to be able to finish it with a respectable 11:04 chrono, while trying to preserve its internal, with some clever reserved driving making sure overheating would not get the better of the newly built package. Still this is a 3 Rotor 20B Semi peripherally ported powered machine fitted with a G45 Garrett Turbo good for over 1200Hp at Sea Level. Engine was also moved back 8 inches making this now a truly Mid-Eengined race car. Fitted with a Tick/PPG t56 magnum sequential with MME air shifter, a Ford 8.8 rear diff, 285 18s Wheels all around with Bridgestone RE71RS rubber, 50/50 perfect weight distribution and a 1270Kg Total Weight. An Haltech R5 ECU is the electronical brain behind all this, Öhlins ILX suspension to connect chassis and wheels with Custom rear suspension drop knuckles, and aerodinamically we can see an APR GT2000 rear wing and Full flat bottom.
