Unveiling Kelvin’s Statue. Location: Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow. The building on top of the hill in the background is the University of Glasgow, where Lord Kelvin worked for most of his career. Statue of William Thomson Kelvin; Irish mathematician & physicist; is unveiled. (No info as to when; but Kelvin died in 1907; so it may be a few years after that.) Pan on GV crowd gathered in gardens w/ building on top of hill. Stop at the statue w/ sheet covering it; and several men standing on platform in front. Someone pulls string; sheet falls away to reveal statue. Men in robes stand and wave their hats to lead a cheer. Some big wigs sitting in a carriage in their costumes; more get in; with robes trimmed in ermine etc. Shot of statue again. Then returns in time to the covered statue; w/ official giving speech.
