The video clips in the beginning are footages from one of Mamady Keïta’s workshops back in 2006 in Guinea. At the end of every rhythm or solo technique that he taught, he will always conclude with a “mix“ of the techniques that he taught in class, and make it like an improvisational presentation.
As you can see from the video, some of the phrases are not like fixed phrases of how many times.
We picked out some of the techniques from Mamady’s class and put it into a structured format for you to play-along with.
