Биотопы кратерного озера Иачем. Национальный парк Северный Квинсленд. Австралия

Not one of my favourite biotopes as most if not all the fish are introduced, it is famous with tourists as it is a lake of volcanic origin on the Atherton Tableland and is safe from Crocodiles, there is a known harmless Freshwater Crocodile that lives there but obviously it has been introduced as well at some point, as you will see on the video most of the life is around the edges of the lake with the water depth dropping fast with not much structure other than granite sand and sediment, unfortunately due to the introduction of larger predatory fish the original inhabitance the Lake Eacham Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia eachamensis) has been lost from the lake due to it not being used to natural predators, the fish that live there now are a Melanotaenia splendida of sort, with an unknown origin along with Common Archerfish, and Barred Grunter, Mouth Almighty, and some turtles. For more information I have left some links bellow.
