Spiral Rod Exercise - Instructional Series for Eurythmy

In this video we show you the Spiral rod exercise. We hold the rod in the middle and circle the person in the middle with it in a spiralling motion, clockwise upwards and downwards in the same direction. We note that the rod itself is not also rotated in the process, so the left tip of the rod always points to the left. We move the rod upwards in seven counts, and also downwards in seven counts. While going up we increase the speed we slow down again while going down. Now along with the rod we move our bodies up and down. We start at the bottom in a crouched position and move up until we stand on the tip of our toes, then down again. Now we move in the opposite direction, so we start at the top of our toes. Now we also walk a spiral while we perform this exercise. As we move the rod clockwise, we also walk the spiral clockwise inwards, as well as outwards. We start to the left front, going clockwise.
