🧵Portrait Hand Embroidery | The World of the Married | Kim Hee Ae 김희ě•
I recently watched this K-drama Tv show named “ The world of the married”, and I was really touched by Kim Hee-ae’s great acting performance. This is a story of a “perfect” couple, where cheating and betrayal dragged the character into the dark hole of a failed marriage, everybody loses.
This picture of her is very emotional, with tears but yet very beautiful. So I made this as a tribute to her performance.
I started by outlining all the color blocks on the face, because I used a transparent organza, so it’s easy to transfer the outline onto the fabric. For the eyes and mouth, I use silk to embroider, as there are so many details in it, silk thread is much more dedicate and easier to achieve the effect. And for the rest of the part, I use stranded cotton threads. I didn’t have all the colors I need, so I use some blending techniques, and stitches I used are long & short stitches and needle painting.
Hope you will like it, please feel free to leave a comment below.
