Sir Desmond Swayne has called for the government not to lose sight of lifting lockdown. Speaking to talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer, the Conservative MP said: “We’re losing the sense of urgency about lifting lockdown. This is costing a fortune in terms of the impact on our lives and on the economy. It’s essential that the Government get on with it to avoid the danger of mission creep that we’re constantly hearing.“ It comes as shadow business minister Lucy Powell urged the Government to extend business support packages for as long as coronavirus restrictions are in place.
