Titles read: “Pathetone - presents - REGINALD FOORT WITH HIS NEW WONDER ORGAN“.
Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London.
High angle shot of Reginald Foort playing on his new organ. He turns to camera and explains how strong and powerful the organ is and talks of how it needs a team of 30 men to dismantle it and pack it up for transportation to the next show.
Reginald shows us some of the different sounds the organ can make, such as the sound of a steam train starting off, and a brass sounding fanfare and tune. He then plays a section of the William Tell Overture; M/S of Reginald’s feet working hard on the pedals!
Note: Pathe website user Derek Dewey has provided the following additional information:
The Theatre Royal was “dark“ at the time the film was made (ie closed). A party was held for the press and the Pathe Pictorial film was made before the organ was packed into five lorries for transportation to Reginald’s first engagement at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
