mySmartCane: Giving Freedom to Visually Impaired People

When attached to any White Cane, this low-cost, sensory gizmo audibly alerts the blind-user of approaching objects. Vas Tsormpatzoudis, a Manchester University student, used NI myRIO to create an ultrasonic ball that can be retrofitted to any cane, to enable the visually impaired user to sense further than ever before.
