John Gannam (1907-1965)

John Gangnam (1907-1965) is known as an illustrator and artist. He painted exclusively in watercolor, using the effect of light and color. John Gannom was born in Lebanon. I grew up in Chicago. He started working early, after his father’s death. He showed his abilities by working as a messenger in an engraving workshop. Talent, excellent taste, constant perfection, search for new things, hard work helped him become a sought-after and famous artist. John Gannom became an employee of the National Academy of Design, a member of the Professional League of American Artists, a member of the American Watercolor Society, the Society of Illustrators.
