Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major of Bach has always been the favorite of Tang Bin, but the idea of playing it on Guqin was inspired by Liu Xing, a famous Zhongruan player (Zhongruan is another kind of traditional Chinese instrument). He once played Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major on Zhongruan.
After listening to Liu Xing’s performance, Tang Bin started wondering: if Bach can be played on Zhongruan, why can’t it be played on Guqin?
