Nathan Vargo Flatfooting/Buck Dancing --Fiddling and Shruti Box by Haakon Oyen

Starting a new project during quarantine! Doing colabs with some of my favorite old time musicians. This time I got to work with Haakon Oyen, a wonderful musician and woodworker out of Asheville. He’s been developing a new drone-centric style of fiddling which incorporates a lot of sporadic foot pumping. I call my style of dance flatfooting but it can also be called buck dancing or clogging. It is a traditional southern Appalachian form of step dancing. Hope you enjoy!
