Carl Tausig (1841-1871) was a Polish virtuoso pianist who is probably best known for his arrangements for piano. He studied with Franz Liszt and is considered one of the greatest pianists of all time. He unfortunately died at only 29 years of age. Instead of “Allegretto“ Tausig used “Allegro appassionato“ for this movement.
