Steinberg Conducts:

Pittsburgh Symphony Music Director William Steinberg rehearses the Symphony No. 7 by Gustav Mahler at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh in 1966 while explaining his thoughts about conducting. WQED’s William Francisco produced with Director of Photography Joseph Pytka who later produced some of the most viewed video of all time with Michael Jackson, the Beatles Free As A Bird video and award winning television commercials. This documentary film was seen on NET the predecessor to PBS. Steinberg appears with his family on Long Island, driving around Pittsburgh and backstage. Jim Sweenie was assistant producer.
