Chilli: Tic Tic Tac [The Complete Recordings] (1997-98)

Tic Tic Tac was a song first written by Braulino Lima in 1992 for a Folklore Festival in the Amazonas. It was recorded by local group Carrapicho. French singer Patrick Bruel heard the song and decided to launch it in France in 1996 where it became a #1 hit single. German producer Frank Farian had assembled a girl group called Chilli and needed a hit for them so he had them record a more Europeanized version of the track with Carrapicho. It became a Top 5 hit in Norway and the German-speaking countries in the summer of 1997. Following the success, a version of Carrapicho’s album was issued including new tracks by Chilli. In 1998 Chilli released their second single, Say I’m Your No. 1, a cover of Raffaella Carrà’s 1976 hit single A Far L’Amore Comincia Tu, which reached #5 in Austria but failed to chart elsewhere.
