Sattu is a superfood made usually with roasted Bengal gram or Kala chana. Sattu is high in fiber and protein. We can consume sattu all year, but it is more used during summer. It helps keep the body hydrated & helps in avoiding sunstrokes. We can consume sattu as a drink, a stuffing, in batter, with cereals, or even use it in desserts.
Salty & spicy sattu can be used to stuff paratha. It can be eaten as a snack or a proper meal. A famous dish from Bihar, Litti Chokha is cooked with sattu. In this video, I have shown how to make sattu paratha in bihari style.
