Burzum Ambient Mix

This video is for educational purposes, and will only stay up with Thulean Perspective’s (Varg Vikernes’) permission. Burzum (meaning “Darkness“) was a one man music project formed in Bergen, Norway, in 1991 by Varg Vikernes. The “golden age“ of Burzum was between 1991 and 1993, when five albums were recorded and the most mystery surrounded the artist behind it, then known as “Count Grishnakh“. Burzum’s early albums were structured with the beginning track designed to initiate the listener into the world of the “darkness of the mind“, making them perceptive to magic. The middle tracks were designed as different spells cast on the listener, and the final track designed to put the listener to sleep. The last two albums recorded in 1993, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and Filosofem, were released after Varg’s enjailment of that year, and marked a distinct shift in the band’s music, with a greater emphasis being placed on ambient music.
