Glemselens Elv written and performed by Burzum on his album Belus (2010). Acoustic cover version by me, Leiv Reed. It took me a few years to really dive into this song. If you want more of this, Subscribe and leave a comment. thanks for watching… You may say a lot of things about mr. Vikernes, but at his best, he’s a great songwriter. This song is as hypnotic and calming as any other Steve Reich or Brian Eno composition, and really places him with at least one foot in the ambient genre. I based this version stricyly on the original, and started my work tuning the guitar to the original and mapping out all the parts and beats in my recording software. I guess I could’ve spent even more time on perfecting the arrangement with a lot of small rhythmic things going on the four guitar tracks, but I guess I am a bit restless and I also enjoy the small quirks a good ol’ mistake adds to a recording.
