Cornish Seal Sanctuary

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is a must visit when down in Cornwall. These guys do fantastic work, they rescue,treat then release all the seals they can. When you see them working its easy to see they love what they are doing. Worth the visit more so if you have children with you. Some of the larger seals cannot be set free into the wild for different reasons, some in the big pool when feeding in the video are blind. Here is some info to read: The origins of the seal sanctuary go back to 1958 when the founder, Ken Jones, discovered a baby seal washed up on the beach near his home at St Agnes. This was the first of many rescues. By 1975, the work had outgrown the single pool at St Agnes and a new site was found at Gweek. The Gweek site slowly grew, and today has five pools and a specially designed hospital.
