Eve Goes To It! (1941)

Titles read: “EVE GOES TO IT!“ Somewhere in the south of England. Several shots of young women arriving at a large country house and reporting to a supervisor woman. Commentator explains that they have come to this powerboat training centre to learn how to make speedboats. The girls are taught by a man in a classroom about different kinds of bolts and screws. Good C/Us of the girls; they all wear berets and dungarees. They are then seen in a workshop, working on parts for the boats. Good shots of a woman in goggles using a blowtorch for welding as commentator says “some of them can handle a blowtorch as expertly as a man“. Various shots of women working on the construction of the 16 ft dinghies (speedboats) that are “used mainly in rescue work“ - girls using screwdrivers and drills, sanding down wood boring holes and so on. Pan across a large group of women standing outside the country house; some of the girls look very young. Brief shots of a line of speedboats being driven over a lake
