Vauxhall Victor V8 Restomod Hot Rod. An amazing Machine

How’s this for a bit of V8 Restomod fun.. The ultimate and unique FB Victor..... One hell of a machine, but not one for the purists ... Professionally Built to very high standards by Paul Martin Kustoms 2013 ...The Victor has had 1000’s of hours of detailed work on restoration and conversion. Powered by a 344bhp Audi V8 engine mated to a Tiptronic 6 speed automatic gearbox with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Together with the famous Audi Quattro four wheel drive system. All from a low mileage 2004 Audi S4.... The origin of the build can be traced back to 1994 when British Vauxhall fan Paul Martin stumbled across an old Victor body shell that had been stored in a barn since the 1960s after an owner’s plans to build a rally car had come to nothing. But it was another 19 years before Paul Martin turned it into the car it is now. They chopped the roof 40 mm, converted to two-door, widened the wheel arches, & finished in Porsche Slate Grey with a beautiful complimentary new full red leather interior, with electrically operated heated seats. Under that Paul Martin Kustoms installed a 2004 Audi S4 powertrain and suspension. They also used the S4’s dash, gauges, and the whole wiring system has been fitted from the Audi, including the OBD diagnostic port, so if wished the Victor could be serviced at an Audi specialist.... The S4 was a quick car in its day, capable of zero to 60 mph (96 km/ h) in less than 6. 0 seconds, but the intervening years have revealed the V8 engine suffers from timing chain problems, and that chain is located at the back of the engine, making repair an engine-out job. Despite the donor motor having just covered just 57, 000 miles, Paul Martin sensibly decided to strip it down and install new timing chains and guides as a precaution. The entire wiring loom across meaning almost every convenience available on the donor Audi appears on the 1960s sedan, including anti-lock-equipped four-wheel disc brakes, ESP, central locking, air conditioning, heated and electrically adjustable seats, and paddle shifters for the auto gearbox. The safety side has been taken care of as well; four wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS... The Audi Anti-Slip regulation system (ASR), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL).... This car drives, handles, stops and sounds like an Audi S4, which is a joy to drive. She’s comfortable, fast and quiet.... Put the Victor into sport mode and it really shifts, as you’d expect.. Other options include: Stainless steel exhaust with four catalytic converters. Double din size Audio with bluetooth connectivity including phone pairing.
