Eric ’Winkle“ Brown | His Best & Worst Aircraft

Eric ’Winkle’ Brown - nicknamed Winkle as he was just 5ft 7in tall (170cm) - flew 487 different aircraft in his time as a Fleet Air Arm combat pilot and Royal Aircraft Establishment test pilot. And that number only counts the basic aircraft type - not their modifications or variants. He completed 2407 deck landings, flew under all conditions, and pushed every aircraft he flew to - and beyond - its limits. In that time he developed opinions on the best and worst aircraft of World War II and who the most effective aeronautical designers and engineers were. But he also knew - resolutely - what his most (and least) favourite aircraft were to fly USER EXPERIENCE ► YouTube Channel - @ArmouredCarriers ► Website - ► Twitter - @ArmouredCarrier RELATED CONTENT ► More User Experience documentaries ► Avengers join “USS Robin“ ► Avengers over Sakishima Gunto SEO hashtags #documentary #military #ww2 #navy #war #history #warthunder #worldofwarships #memories #airplane #aircraftcarrier
