Yakima Food Fair (1990’s news story)

Though pay was low, there were certain “perks“ to being a reporter. This was an assignment I could really sink my teeth into! From my early days in TV news, circa 1993-1997, at KIMA TV in Yakima, WA, US. Back in those days, I did all the work myself including the writing, video-editing, reporting and photography. I routinely carried 50 pounds of gear and was required to come up with a minimum of three stories per day while working on a salary which was barely above minimum wage.
