Dame Priti Patel is the Conservative leadership candidate who best understands the party’s members, a former Cabinet minister has argued in a new public endorsement. Wendy Morton, the MP for Aldridge-Brownhills, who was one of Liz Truss’s biggest parliamentary supporters, has announced her backing of Dame Priti in The Telegraph.
