The Beatles - Ob La Di Ob La Da - 2024 stereo remix

A new 2024 stereo mix, based on the mono version. The existing stereo versions have the vocals doubled up, created with artificial double tracking, which gives the mix a fake stereo sound (one that I have never liked). In the mono version, Paul’s lead vocal is not doubled up, and it has a very dry sound. That is how I wanted the 50th anniversary 2018 stereo remix to sound. The original stereo mix of Birthday had the same kind of sound, but thankfully they got the remix of that one right. I think Birthday is the standout track on the 2018 remixed White Album. Artificial double tracking (ADT) is an analogue recording technique designed to enhance the sound of voices or instruments during the mixing process. It uses tape delay to create a delayed copy of an audio signal which is then played back at slightly varying speed controlled by an oscillator and combined with the original. The effect is intended to simulate the sound of the natural doubling of voices or instruments achieved by double tracking.
